Weyr: Talune
Name: Imere
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Hetero
Rank: Candidate
Age: 13 Turns
Appearance: Almost no one believes Imere from the get go when she proudly tells them of her thirteen Turns. Short of stature and slim, though not unhealthily so, she tends to look younger than her years, which is the source of such confusion. Her skin is lightly tanned, and her eyes, wide and expressive when not lost in some other world, are a bright, vivid green. Imere has long, black hair which she delights in wearing unbound. She prefers loose fitting clothes, especially skirts and dresses that twirl up around her when she spins around, and goes barefoot when she can.
Personality: Though she might seem cold and aloof when you first meet her, once you get to know her you’ll discover that’s really not the case. Imere is a kind, compassionate person, though she is often lost in her own little world, a result of not really having the benefit of a playmate her own age growing up. But, as a result of often having her head in the clouds, it usually takes a while before you get her attention, and takes effort to hold on to it once you do have it.
Sometimes, it might seem like she’s talking to herself, but really she isn’t. It’s most likely her imaginary friend Grier who’s just popped by for a chat.
History: One of the original, settled families, Imere and her family have watched Nusa Hold go from a place of shining hope, to one sinking to despair. A woodcrafter skilled with his hands, Imere’s father had joined up with the group because of the abundance of lumber there that he needed for his craft and at first, he was always more than happy to give of his craft to the Weyr. But then things in the Hold deteriorated, and while Imere’s father was always able to provide well for his family, he was able to give less and less to the tithe that had disappeared altogether.
Imere’s mother was a homemaker, well versed in some of the more womanly crafts and sometimes she would bake goods to sell to the neighbors for extra marks to have.
Besides for Imere herself, she was the youngest of four children, with a ten Turn age gap between herself and her next oldest sibling. As such, she was almost always left to play on her own when her non married siblings went off to do their own thing. Not oblivious to the bad things going on around her, she tried to make the most out of her situation. For Imere, going to the Weyr would be a way to broaden her horizons. and get out of a situation that might stifle her.
