Weyr: Solainoti
Name: Iaeiros (I’ros if he Impresses)
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual I suppose, though for the most part he’s rather an asexual being.
Rank: Candidate
Age: 18
Appearence: It seems rather ironic that for someone with so little interest in sexual relationships that Iaeiros be quite as attractive as he is, rather the embodiment of tall, dark and handsome.
Having inherited his mother's dark hair, it is worn at medium length, extending perhaps a centimetre or so below the ear with a slight wave to its rather thick texture. It frames his face, leaving his high, square-like forehead bare.
He has dark eyes, a rich coffee color and thick, dark eyelashes to frame; a feature many woman wish they themselves possessed. His eyebrows lie dark and thickly above. His skin is a light intermediate color, not translucently pale, but neither is it remotely close to dark.
His upper lip is very thin, the bottom lip somewhet thicker but still on the sparse side. He has dark, moderate facial hair over chin and upper lip, giving him a rather rugged appearance.
Iaeiros is a tall man at 6'6, however he often appears taller than this as he holds himself very erect, giving the illusion of an extra inch or so. His body is well-toned with lean muscle, rather at odds with his more scholarly pursuits although he does like to keep active, whether its pacing around a room as he muses over things, or going for a run over the vast areas surrounding his home.
His gaze often takes on a sort of dazed, glazed over appearance. In these circumstances no matter what is said to him he will have no recollection of the conversation, even if he took part in it, his mind off wondering of its own devices.
Clothing is the least of Iaeiros' concerns, in fact he spares so little thought about what he wears, that it often results in a rather graish ensemble with clashing colors, and items of clothing that are ill-fitting or season inappropriate.
Personality: Iaeiros is introspective, easily getting wrapped up in his own thoughts and excitement at the ideas that seem to constantly pop into his head. He is a dreamer, and would have easily been found amongst the Einstein's and Archimede's of Terran culture, constantly trying to solve things and contemplate complicated situations. There is no greater joy to be had then that moment of revelation when he solves a complex problem as far as Iaeiros is concerned. When his interest piqued he is an efficient working, pouring all of his passion into the task at hand.
Unfortunately so often does he get wrapped up in such things he becomes rather oblivious to anything around him, and as sharp as his memory is at remebering intricate instructions and complicated mechanics, in more mundane matters it fails him dreadfully. Names, important dates, and directions all fall along the way-side, and if it was not for his aunt's incessantness, the young man would often forget to eat.
Conversations with Iaeiros are...interesting. He has an odd manner when speaking his conersation peppered with bizarre comments, and halfway through a conversation one word my trigger a tirade of thoughts, in which any chance of resuming a conversation should be forgotten. However he is a friendly, kind person when his thoughts are otherwise unoccupied.
Iaerios is completely oblivious to his rather handsome looks and the effect they may have on males and females alike, often accidently snubbing his would-be-suitors as a result of this. He has no understanding of the mind-games played, or the flirtations involved, and has no real desire to bed anyone. Despite this he does appreciate true beauty, and can find people attractive but it's more so in the way one would admire a nice piece of art than an object to lust over.
History: Aeria has the temperament of a green, and had she ever had any interest in Impressing, would surely have ended up with such a dragon. She flits about from one thing to the next, travelling around Pern as she wishes and it was while in the East, where her family had lived, she encountered Irossan, a rather serious and quiet Journeyman Smith who was quite besotted with Aeria. The encounter resulted in a son; Iaeiros. But in usual Aeria fashion she tired of playing happy families and left Irossan on amicable terms, taking their son with her on her jaunts.
It was some two Turns later, after having traversed around the Southern continent, that Aeria returned to her family's small Holding in the East, pregnant and with her small son in tow. Her elder sister Niaran was not happy to see Aeria trapsising Pern with such an impressionable boy in tow, and convinced Aeria that for all concerned it was best if she left Iaeiros with her and her husband, as well as the yet to be born child. It really took little to convince Aeria this was the best situation for all concerned, having started to tire of her role as 'Mother.' Once she gave birth, to a daughter this time, Aeria only waited long enough to regain her energy before departing once again.
Unlike other children his age he was often content to sit off to the side by himself without demanding the attention of an adult. At first Nairan worried that the child was touched in the head, so unusual a child he was, but over time she came to recognise this was just a particular quirk of the young boy's and he did thrived in his Harper classes.
Two turns after Iaeiros and Eri had been left in their Aunt's care, another brother joined them, again Aeria spending little time at the Hold before leaving. As far as the children were concerned Nairan was their mother while Aeria was a friend they saw occassionally who brought wonderful gifts. Nairan had also had two of her own children during this time, and the five would often play happily amongst one another, with Iaeiros the protective, elder brother.
Despite his father living not far away from his Aunt's house, for all intents and purposes Nairan's husband was the father-figure in Iaeiros' life. It seemed an arrangement that suited everyone, Irossan having no idea how to relate to a child, content enough to entertain the child with stories of the mines on the occassions he visited. Iaeiros developed an interest in Riosian through these stories, and although the mineral itself had not been mined for a number of Turns, Iaeiros learnt all that Irossan himself knew about the rather dangerous stone.
The Technician's Hall had been around for only a short amount of time before Iaeiros apprenticed to it, Nairan proudly sending off her eldest 'son' though with distinctly misty eyes. He displayed an aptitdue for the Craft, and the Master's looked upon him dotingly, though they did worry that attimes he seemed a little too caught up in his studies and that he did not socialise amongst the other apprentices quite as much. Nonetheless Iaeiros believed had he had found his niche, and is currently working upon achieving his Jourmeyman's knot.
Father: Irossan-Journeyman Smith (45)
Mother: Aeria-Dabbles in this and that; travels around the place (39)
Siblings: Eri (half-sister; 15), Anarian (half-brother; 13)
Pets: None-Iaeiros would most likely forget about any pet he had.
Color Preference & Why: Dusk-This color would be perfect for my little dreamer boy, a dragon that puts up with his absentness and is a calm anchor for his mind wonderings.
What Colors/Color don't you want and why: Anything of rank, I’d hate to see the mess of a Wing lead by Iaeiros
