Lemon grass is an edible plant whose name is a misnomer. The stem and leaves have a distinct lemony flavor to them, hence their name. Tea from the leaves treats diarrhea, stomachaches, headaches, fevers, flu, and is antiseptic. The essential oil is used in cosmetics, food, and aromatherapy to improve circulation and muscle tone. Antiseptic oil treats athlete's foot and acne, and a spray from it reduces airborne bacteria.
