Oh, but if you want to have a go, I just want to let you know...
Get off of my back, and into my game.
Get out of my way, and out of my brain.
Get out of my face, or give it your best shot.
I think it's time you better face the fact, get off of my back.
Get off of my back, and into my game.
Get out of my way, and out of my brain.
Get out of my face, or give it your best shot.
I think it's time you better face the fact, get off of my back.

Ah. It was quite nice to finally get to rest after riding that whole way from Hold to Weyr, Weyr to Hold, then back again. Both Holds tied to New Cove had so chosen to bring in tithes on the same day and, although the journey wasn't long or tiresome, it had required both Icyri and Icysk to get up quite early to be able to put both in on the same day and get them done properly. Now, however, there was plenty of time to relax before the two joined the other wherhandler and his wher to head back to the Hall, and they were making the most of it to say the very least. Icyri has abandoned her boots, clutching them in one hand as she walked just far enough into the ocean's waters as they lapped the shore so that her footprints were swept away lightly, all trace of her forgotten. Though the same couldn't exactly be said for Icysk. The wher was in one of her playful moods again, bounding across the sand, more like plowing through it, and tossing about a large sea shell that she would pick up in her mouth, throw some distance, then run to it and continue the entire process. She left a rather large rut in the sand from her constant charging, the sweeping motion of her tail sliding over the grainy surface barely helping, but it wasn't like she was tearing the beach up. Or, at least not much. Besides, what would New Cove do, have her pay for the disheveled sand? Ridiculous.
So Icyri let her wher play, and she herself walk along the beaches, occasionally finding an interesting shell to keep, stick it in a light pouch she had brought to keep treats for Icysk in. Speaking of the wher, where had she gone? The wherhandler had turned her back for a minute, just long enough to pick up a particularly lovely, solid white shell, and the thing had gotten herself into trouble by vanishing out of sight. With a muffled sigh, Icyri pulled herself away from the comforting pull of the warmer, southern waters, her eyes skimming over the beach for a moment to locate her wher's path of destruction. Great. The one time Icysk decided to be calm was when she wandered off. Luckily for her handler, though, the wher's body build was against her, and a distinct impression was left in the soft ground from where the beast had stepped. It provided the perfect route to Icysk, so there really was no need for her to panic anymore but, you had to ponder over just who she was looking for. Icysk not in trouble? Yeah, and thread was actually made of cheese. Her eyes rolled in mock irritation, the short woman whistling to call her wher back, but she received no answer. The path continued, wandering over a large sand dune, and Icyri could only grumble a few oaths that the spunky creature would pick this mound over all the other, shorter ones. When she reached the apex of the sand dune-a great accomplishment for her indeed, because the thing had to be three times her size-Icyri could only stand with her hands on her hips, looking down at her wher just standing there, dumbly looking straight down at the ground like a child caught with his hands in the cookie jar.
Sliding carefully down the heap of sand, Icyri reached the bottom and promptly dusted herself off, not looking at her wher in the process, because everything seemed perfectly fine. "It's okay, I know you get a tad...adventurous when you're about to rise but, you know, you could just tell me that rather than show me by dragging me all over the place. I'd still get the message, love." Icyri looked up from her dusting to find that Icysk hadn't moved an inch, her head still fixed downward, staring absently at the sand. Her smile softened, the woman wondering around to pet her wher's hide lovingly. "Hey, it's okay. I didn't-Oh." Well. that solved that mystery. Icysk had been staring, quite intently, down at a small firelizard clutch. Apparently her acute senses had picked up on the scent of the eggs, and she had dragged her handler all over the beach just to find it. Just in time too, it seemed, for one of the eggs was shakily rocking back and forth over top of the others in its clutch. Tenderly, Icysk picked it up in her teeth, Icyri stifling a gasp for it looked as though her wher had eaten the egg until she placed it into her handler's lap as she sat observing the clutch.
"Well what do you want me to do with this?" She lifted her gaze from the rocking egg as she watched Icysk nose through the clutch, sniffing about until she managed to locate another egg, this one smaller than the other but still fairly large. She placed it, too, in her handler's lap before curling up beside her and looking up thoughtfully as if to say 'now we wait'. "You can't honestly expect me to keep these two, Icysk. They're just little babies and belong to New Cove since they were clutched here. It'd be stealing." The wher snorted, nosing Icyri's side with the firm thought that Hers was being foolish echoing over their bond. "It's not right, silly. You can't just-" But it seemed Icysk was right, for the first egg had split shell and a white maw poked through. At that very moment, the other egg began to rock, and Icyri had to set the both of them down to watch as the first flit thrashed about until she spilled unceremoniously from her prison, chirping indignantly at falling so. She stared curiously at Icysk, trilling her curiosity even as Icyri pulled out a few of Icysk's treats from her little bag and emitting happy thoughts to coax the flit closer, offering up the food. The little one didn't immediately take the bait, instead pouncing on her fellow clutch mate and, oddly, helping break the shell for the little spring inside. She took one look at the other eggs and keened sadly, her still wet wings drooping to the ground. The others didn't make it, apparently, and Icysk had saved the only two surviving. The clutch had been small to begin with; there were only eleven little eggs in it, and so the loss was quite large. Of that eleven, two had hatched, meaning there were nine duds left, baked by the sun. Poor things. She couldn't leave them behind now, not since they were all alone. Regardless if it was stealing, she would get this snow and her little spring sister to come to her.
Icyri crooned softly to the two flits, trying to coax the both of them closer, her hand full of enticing goodies that had the spring wandering over in no time. She was contently stuffing her face and well fed by the time the snow padded up, still watching Icysk warily, before snatching a treat and darting back a foot or two to scarf it down. She did this thrice before finally deciding the wher wasn't going to hurt her and joined her sister in her new Mine's lap, belly full and crooning happily. Icyri smiled before picking up the sleepy spring, watching as her eyelids closed and she dosed off, and she carefully placed the grass green flit in her pocket, having to stick one brown foot in as it poked out, but eventually the flit did settled inside the large jacket pocket, and was snoozing. The snow was a bit too bit for that so, instead, Icyri resorted to cradling the flit, watching it yawn and snuggle up against her chest, slumbering peacefully before she could even stand. "Well, Icysk, that was very smart of you, finding that nest. I'm sure these two are glad you did." The opal wher lifted her head, nuzzling her side, thoughts prompting of what they would call the little ones. Icyri chuckled. "Well, I think I'll call the spring Serenity, and the snow...," she pondered this for a minute, her eyes sparking with delight as she found her name. "I think I'll call her Calypso."

Notes: This is just to post that Icyri has the snow flit that was paid for. -Nods- No one need reply, it just had to be posted.
