Accalia shook her head quickly, hoping that the action alone would do some to dispel any notions the other Jade rider held of Accalia being annoyed or angry at her. For once forgetting that K'dran was standing so close to her, proferring the numbweed, she gave her first real smile. "Don't be silly, it was not your fault at all. I'm sure you have seen some of my more graceful displays from time to time no doubt. It's as if my big feet and hands just have a will of their own, and it is rarely in tangent with the rest of me. So don't you even think of blaming yourself, the fault rests solely upon me. And this really is nothing compared to some of the scrapes I've had. Really," she repeated again to emphasise the point, wanting to see the anxiety in the other girl's eyes vanish. Accalia may be a mess of nerves at times, and shy away from overly large groups of people, but at the same time, when with the right company, she could truly enjoy herself. It was just a pity K'dran had shown up, otherwise the two may have been able to have had a proper conversation as opposed to this stilted exchange of pleasantries.
}:You don't really wish that, do you? Admit it to yourself, you like that you have a chance to talk to him.:{ Rownith interrupted although Accalia flatly refused to respond. As if she liked feeling the fool, particularly as the man had shown her not a shred of interest. At least he had no inlking of her mind, oh that would be mortifying in the least and stilled her tounge for some moments before she realised he still stood next to her holding that pot of numbweed. She shook her head and gave an apologetic smile for having got lost in her own thoughts, yet again, before accepting the numbweed. "Thank you," she said as her shaking fingers met his own and she felt an unusual sensation rush through her. Her cheeks flamed once again, her dark eyes meeting his own for a mere instant and seeing no recognition within them, bowed her head. She was a wherry headed fool to even hope. Accalia knew somewhat of what K'dran was like, and yet still she had been attracted to him for Faranth knew what reason.
If only she could be as sensible in this as she was everything else, Accalia chastised herself. It was an utterly ridiculous notion to expect the black rider to look twice at her. With another shake of her head she opened up the pot of numbweed tipping a small amount onto her hand, using her fingers to smear the creamy lotion evenly on her scrape, as she listened to Cailleah and K'dran once again. So he had noticed Cailleah's own anxiety and not her own apprehension? **Well so be it, at least I did not attract any further attention upon my head, and have to explain that.** Accalia's eyes drifted from the other two riders to the pen.
The Jade's form quivered as the Black's tounge and tail ran over her glistening hide. It was still a sevenday or so before she was expected to rise, and yet Dharth was behaving like the flight was immeninent, buttering her up with honeyed words and sweet caresses. The poor Jade did not know what to think, she had always held the opinion that she rivalled any other female, and Queen in fact, but it was different to actually be on the receiving end of such treatment, especially from a renowned surly and sadistic dragon such as Dharth. }:Why, of course you please me, do you think I would have just stood here allowing your tounge to glide over me, and your tail wrap around me, if I was anything but pleased?:{ The Jade shook her triangular head in a fair imitation of Accalia only moments ago. }:Of course I would not have. I am may enjoy a male's attention but I choose those who I am most enamoured of, dear Black. I would not subject myself to unwanted dalliances.:{

Broke the ring around it, I can’t think about it. I can barely start to even wrap my head around it. Waters rise around us; Sinking ships surround us. I can‘t believe she even found a way inside to drown us. <^Caileah^||^Asoth^> Asoth had long since lost interest in her meal. Dharth and Rownith's tender ministrations making the pit of her stomach churn in an almost sickening manner. She wasn't opposed to being treated lovingly-especially not when the tender actions were being placed upon her because she dearly loved being attended to herself-but public displays of affection just...rubbed her all the wrong way. A disdainful shudder ran the length of her spine as she tried to avert her gaze. If she looked on at the scene any longer, she'd have wasted the meat she had just ingested. A grumbling sigh pushed its way past her clenched jaws, the Jade picking absently at what remained of her meal. The bones she had not taken into her stomach laid half hazardously in the thick grasses, boredom seeping into her cranium as her dainty claws picked up each bone in turn and placed it into a nice, neat pile. Truth be told, she was only doing so to kill time, because her time at the Feeding Pens was over and done with. She was only bothering to stick around for the benefit of Her. The terribly shy rider, though she had no rude disposition that prevented her from making friends, did not have many for her shy nature practically forbid it. Even if lingering about was a dull, tedious concept to her, she didn't mind if it gave her the chance to see her rider happy for a change. Despite the fact that Caileah was currently trying to persuade her to leave. Mine, it honestly isn't that bad. Accalia doesn't mind you, and even K'dran took a small ounce of notice to how you were feeling. Give them a little bit more of a chance, please. I'll be fine and content for a little while longer just arranging these bones and, if it gets too bad, I'll pull you away and say that the upcoming rising attitude was getting to me. After all, no Jade likes watching another get all the attention, even if they are due to Rise relatively soon. Oh, fine, you mean thing. I'll stay for just a little while longer, but I really don't want to be here. Even if Accalia is fine with it and K'dran bothered to pay attention outside of wing drills. Just, please, lets not stay long. You have my word, Mine. Besides, this lovey-dovey stuff is making me sickish. "Um...Nothing, really. I'm fine, I swear. Just not used to being up this early is all," she fumbled out lamely, her eyes failing to remain on the neutral Accalia as she tended to her wounded hand. They betrayed her and moved to the face of her wingleader, and the Jaderider would have rather been anywhere else on Pern at the moment than have to deal with his gaze in that very instant. "You just might be fretting too much," she whispered carefully.

K'dran, once Accalia took the jar of numbweed fom his palm, crossed his arms across his chest. As usual, he hadn't really noticed her infatuated reaction; not even the fact that her fingers trembled slightly when she picked up the jar registered in the blackrider's mind.
Caileah's awkward reply elicited a snort from him. "Oh ay. It's hard to function this early in the morning." As if to illustrate this, another yawn cause his mouth to gape wide while steam from his breath roiled out. "Wwwah, 'scuse me," he muttered. Can we go now? I'm not gonna be able to stay lucid today if I don't get more sleep, and I'd really rather not fall off your back during drills, he remarked silently to his dragon.
Dharth ignored him, instead keeping his attention focused on Rownith. Baiting this silly, vain jade was too amusing to stop quite yet. A throaty bubbled up from his chest and rolled silkily off his tongue. The black's hot breath washed over Rownith's head, over which Dharth still held his own muzzle. I am glad I could please you, he said smoothly, while his teeth very gently nibbled at the jade's headknobs. And it gratifies me to know I am counted among those worthy to court such a beauty.
Hearing Dharth's words, K'dran very nearly broke out into a bray of laughter. He managed to bite his lip and keep his mirth at bay, though it was a struggle. Dharth was shameless! The blackrider got control of himself quickly enough when he heard an unarticulated threat from his dragon; if K'dran ruined this by laughing, he'd pay for it later. He valued his skin too much to slip. Perhaps it was cowardly to let Dharth play with the poor jade like he was, but K'dran had more of an eye to his own wellbeing than to others'. Besides, knowing jades, she would likely recover from the jilting soon enough.

The Jade gave a draconic grin, }:I doubt there would be many who would not allow your advances.:{ Which begged the question why her, and why here? However the Jade did not think of consquences, and she had such self-confidence that she would never even think to ask why it was her that the black lavished his attention upon, and not some higher ranked dragon. After all it was not unheard of for a bronze to fly greens, and Rownith was much more than any silly green, that was for sure. }:And does that mean I may expect to see you in the sky when I rise? It would definitely upset some of the males, I assure you, to see such a magnificent dragon as yourself chase among them.:{ She stroked the black's ego, it was in her best interest to do so if she really did want him as a participant. Whether she would let him win or not was another matter, but there was still a while to go before she would even have to mull over such.
Accalia realised she had missed almost the entire exchange between her dragon and K'dran's, although she had picked up on the final sentence. What exactly was Rownith doing? A Black chasing after a Jade, and K'dran's Black at that? **Please don't encourage him Rownith, perhaps we should go. I'm not really in the conversation anymore and I'm starting to need my own breakfast. I will give you a good oiling if we leave now,** Accalia tried her best to cajole the dragon into leaving, but just as the other dragons had done, Rownith refused to leave. And why would she want to now, with Dharth almost wrapped around her and his flattering words pleasing her?
}:Why are you being like this? Don't you see, I'm doing you a favour. If I allow him to win you get K'dran, at least for a while anyway. And then who knows?:{ Rownith had little understanding how human relationships worked and as far as she was concerned Accalia should be excited by the prospect. And indeed she well might have been had she been anyone else. Unfortunately the only experience Accalia had had with such matters was in mating flights and she knew that during those times she had no control over what happened at all. The thought petrified her, and what made it worse is that if it did occur it was not because K'dran had wanted to be with her, rather because Rownith had schemed it to be so. She appreciated her Jade's gesture but frankly was going to have none of it.
**Please, don't do this for me. Just choose one of the other males, any of the others, like you usually do. It's not like you to let other things cloud your judgement. I don't want to restict you in your choice,** Accalia said in her most convincing tone, twisting the numbweed jaw in her hand as she bespoke Rownith.
}:Well if that's what you really want.:{ Rownith responded, and while not the confirmation Accalia had been hoping to hear, it would have to do.
As she spoke to her dragon the conversation around her flowed, if a little stiltedly. Retunrning her attention to it she remained quiet, not really having a problem with getting up early. Accalia had been an early riser for as long as she could remember.

Dharth allowed himself a faint grin at the jade's next words. Yes, the glamorie was well set. He hoped the infatuation would last until Rownith's Flight -- that would make his little game all the more interesting. It would be so delicious, to lead on the silly female to think he was under her spell while in fact she had fallen for his like a newborn runner trying to stand on its ungangly long legs, even honor her by taking to the sky in pursuit of her and being the one to twine tenderly with her, just to dash her hopes cruelly the moment the Flight was over. There would be the added satisfaction of watching the jaderider's reaction -- she was obviously smitten with K'dran, and when she woke from the Flight with the object of her infatuation next to her, oh would it be amusing! Then, to see Accalia's realization of her dragon's jilting, coupled with K'dran's copiously apparent and utter disinterest in her; the big dragon nearly broke into a wolfish grin and a malicious chuckle.
Instead, he let a low rumble bubble up from his chest, and slid his tongue once more in a sensuous caress over her headknobs. Most certainly, my dear jade. And those other males may stew in their jealousy all they please, but that will count for naught once we are in the air. It is not their place to dictate who wins these competitions, they must earn the right, especially to twine with a beauty such as you.
Dharth then took a step away, giving Rownith a flirtatious wink. I will see you in the skies, lovely Rownith. Who knows, mayhaps I will be able to prove myself worthy to be the one. I saw that YourAccalia is smitten with K'dran, p'raps something will come of it as well. He parted his jaws slightly, allowing a soft croon to roll from between his teeth at the jade.
Catching Dharth's parting words, K'dran suppressed a sigh of relief. "Dharth seems to be done now, so I'm off," He said, waving a hand absently at the two jaderiders as he shuffled off to one side. The big black stepped over the fence that kept the herdbeasts in place and cocked a foreleg for K'dran to scramble up. So you're gonna chase the jade? K'dran asked blandly as Dharth took off.
Ay, Dharth replied simply; as soon as the bout of flirty courting was over, the big black's social mood dissapated and he went back to his usual curt manner. K'dran shrugged; it didn't matter to him either way, it was only a jadeFlight. He was unaware of Accalia's infatuation, and Dharth wasn't about to clue him in; even if he had known, it wasn't in the blackrider's nature to do anything about it.
