No New Posts The Great Gate

The entryway into Skrull, the Gate is guarded at all times. Below is a chamber where dragons that are allowed in can be checked out by the guards. The gates are very tough and well reinforced, it would take much flame and acid to break through or a concentrated assault by an Amber. There are tunnels between here and the Fourth Level, and a second Great Gate to the Shaft which is rarely opened and can be sealed in an emergency.

No New Posts The Shaft

Provides access to the five levels, and is traversed by Ghost or the stairs along the side. Entry is through one of three Gates placed on the ledge outside each level, with a two gates at each individual Gate and a chamber between to prevent accidental sight by a visitor. The Ledges between each Level are used for impromptu meetings or parties, as well as the ones outside the Levels themselves. Outsiders are forbidden from here on pain of pain.

No New Posts Fifth Level - 1 Viewing

Contains the Wraith Weyrs as well as the homes of the Weyrleader and Weyrwoman. The Meeting Hall and Throne room are found on this level. No dragons except for Wraiths are allowed on this level, and any visiting outsiders are brought up the Shaft while blindfolded. Access is only via the Shaft, or the Wraith Tunnels.

No New Posts Fourth Level

Within is found the homes of the Shades, Itpronen, Blues and Greens. Each has a size appropriate Weyr with slightly larger Weyrs for higher ranking riders. The Weyrs of the Itpronen are suitably reinforced and are grounded by metal placed into the side, which they can discharge into. This is also where the riders are quartered, with their homes being either off their dragon’s Weyr or directly beside it. Some Weyrs are attached directly to the Ledge outside, for dragons who fly out often and leave via the Great Gates.

No New Posts Third Level

This is where every Ghost is quartered with their riders, no exceptions. There are Ghosts stationed on the ledge outside whose riders use the voice rooms to communicate if someone needs a ride up or down. These quarters are lined with an acid-resistant stone, and this level contains the Hall of Stonecarvers. Subsequently, this level is the most decorated as the Stonecarvers are constantly working on the walls. There are tunnels from this level to the outside, cleverly sloping and twisting to stop other dragons using them. They come out on sheer cliff faces, which are easy for the Ghosts to traverse.

No New Posts Second Level

Contains food storage and guard headquarters. This level is intricately designed to be a natural heat sink, so the rooms near the edge are constantly cold. The rooms further in house the human guards and their families as well as the most normal folk. This is also where the main entrance for normal people is, consisting of three tunnels with an ingenious system of bracing designed by B’ach and the Master Stonecarver which allows the tunnels to be collapsed at any time to prevent invasion.

Here lies the Hatching Sands and Bathing pools, The Sands are kept warm by closeness to the planet core, since this level is some three hundred meters or so below ground. Also there are family quarters here which is where you are moved if you have young children to avoid them wandering and falling into the Shaft. The Stonemason Hall is kept here, as well as other empty Craft Halls which are as of yet unclaimed.

No New Posts Ring Mount Hold

A relatively small hold on the Eastern edge of Skrull, based on side of the river which seperates Skrull from its sister, jungle island. Only the woodcutters, butchers and shearers staying here permanetly. The rest of the population are roaming the Steppes to the north and west of the Hold with their huge herds of Herdbeasts and Woolbearers which supply the rest of the island. The birch trees that grow along the river's edge are harvested year round and carved here or sent to the other holds.

No New Posts East Steppe Hold - 1 Viewing

A relatively small hold on the Eastern edge of Skrull, based on side of the river which seperates Skrull from its sister, jungle island. No New Posts Skrull Coast Hold

A large fishing Hold that covers a decent portion of the West Coast of Skrull. This Hold is in charge of acquiring the seafood for entire island. The sandy soil nearby is used to grow cotton, which most of Skrull's garments are made from. There are also orchards and vineyards further in, maintained by the mercentile aspect of the hold.

Board Description
Skrull Island Weyr
East of the Northern Continent, and island called Skrull rests in the cool waters. In the centre of the isle, inside a barren stone mountain, rests Skrull Island Weyr; a secretive and hitherto hidden place. Carved from the very rock of the land this Weyr sits as a warning to those who would try and destroy the peace of Pern.
