so i've been gone a long time. this place has had its waxing and waning phases, and i tried to stick with it as much as i could. a lot of things have been going on in my personal life, and several of those conspired to make me drift away. i'm not trying to make excuses here, only to explain why i've been AWOL.
mostly, my absence was due to school. i'm going into my third year of college, though i haven't yet gotten the full sixty hours to make me a junior. this is because, the last fall semester, several circumstances caused me to royally fuck up my classes and my GPA went into the gutter. last semester i was on academic warning and though i managed to haul my own ass out of the fire, i'm going to be careful this upcoming semester (i move back in on August 19th) so that i don't mess up again.
for me it's been a bit of a challenge learning how to balance out my life. between classes, my social life including a long-term relationship that's nearly a year old now, my school's Resident Student Association in which i hold office, and the various internet places i frequent, it's been kind of a hassle to figure out how to make all those things work and still sleep at night.
but since i'm already on sort of a self-improvement tangent, i might as well pick up the ends i left loose. i've been part of this site since its inception, and despite the fact that i had to leave it for a while, i still love everything that's going on and i want to pick back up again. i probably needn't have rambled this long, because you are all awesome people who'll forgive me for leaving, but i feel like i need to explain myself in some way since i do take the fact that i was (and evidently still am?) an admin here seriously.
