Gavrielsith rumbled in amusement as Junakyth leaped to her paws and frolicked about for a moment, before seeming to notice that everyone else was calm. For hsi part, Gavriel dropped his lower jaw open in a broad grin as he watched her happiness, eyes wheeling. She seemed so genuinely pleased with the answer; how could he do anything but smile? It was nice to speak to one who took such joy in life's simple pleasures.
E'zera nodded in assent. "That sounds like a plan. We shall meet you there. If you can bring the food, Gavriel and I will bring the other supplies necessary for a pleasant outing not spent half-frozen in the snow." A few thick pelts, fire-making tools, and the other amenities necessary to keep a human content on the tundra. Those would have more mass, or at least more volume, than the food and other picnic-making supplies, so it was fair that the larger dragon be asked to carry the bigger load. Gavriel rumbled in agreement to E'zera's assessment.
With those detailed worked out, the older frostpair stood to go, bidding their compatriots farewell for the time. Gavriel wandered off to the stores of burnables to gather a few billets of wood, while his rider went to his weyr to gather the thickest, warmest furs he owned. He prided himself on owning some of the more luxuriant pelts, since in all the hunting he and Gavriel did, they got first pick of the skins.
It didn't take long to assemble all the materials, and once they had them loaded onto Gavriel's fighting straps, the frostpair made their way to the Meeting Hall. It would be dusk in approximately two hours; they were early, but that was their habit. Besides, if the female frostpair also arrived early, that meant they would have more time to have dinner before the long night closed in.

The female Frostpair gave their consent to the plan and headed off to start gathering what they would need. Without the hassle of loading Junakyth up with heavy wood and furs it would be fairly easy to strap the baskets of food and drink to the sturdy female. It would also be a lot quicker with less work to do. Junakyth lounged about in their weyr, waiting for Raluca to finish, and patiently remained still despite being anxious to get going as her rider swapped out part of the straps for ones which kept Raluca cloe to Junakyth and in place between the strong shoulders.
Next came fixing everything to the straps, the baskets loaded to the brim with as many wonderful things as Raluca could scroung up as well as a few skins of wine she had bought for herself at a recent Gather. She'd tried the vint while there and fallen in love with it, buying more than she should have. Why not share some of it with E'zera? If she didn't it'd take forever for her to finish it off.
They were finished with about fifteen minutes to spare by the time Junakyth was pulling herself and Raluca over the edge to the top of the peak where the Meeting Hall sat. They were delighted to find that E'zera and Gavrielsith were there, though Junakyth felt a pange of guilt, wondering how long they had been waiting. Hail! Have you been waiting long? I thought were were going to be early. Had they misjudged how long it had taken? Surely not.
Raluca smiled and waved her greeting. "Have you two been here long? I was sure we'd make it here before you guys. Seems I was wrong." /Don't fret Jun, we're not late, I promise./ She gave her Frost reassurance, and it seemed enough for the female who settled promptly and jogged to Gavrielsith. "Have you got everything? We've got baskets of meatrolls, some wherry strew, tubers, greens, sweetrolls, and fruit, as well as skins of klah and wine, with cups and a coulpe pots to heat with." They obviously were not strangers to fixing a meal out on the chilly terrain.

Gavrielsith raised his head and whistled a greeting to the approaching females. Quite the contrary, my lady. You are early yet; it is only that me and Mine are insufferable gentlemen and insist on being even earlier, that we might assist our fair companions should they have need.
E'zera waved to Raluca. "Oh no, you're fine. Gav and I just got done early and thought we'd wait up." He reached down to slap the bundles hanging from Gavriel's fighting straps. "We've got firewood and all the accoutrements, and enough furs to cover Gavriel's fat self from nose to tail."
The big frost huffed. Excuse me, sirrah? I am not fat; at least, no fatter than you.
E'zera playfully thwacked his dragon's dorsal ridge and continued speaking. "Shall we go, then? The evening is still young, and the sunset promises to be beautiful."
And the spectacular sunset promises a blizzard tonight or tomorrow morning, so methinks it would be wise to mind the time, Gavriel remarked, projecting to Junakyth as well as His. So to maximize the time we have to enjoy one another's company, let us be off!

Raluca grinned as E'zera said he had enough hides to cover Gavrielsith. "Well at least we won't be too cold while we eat then. A nice fire and a warm pile of furs can make anywhere seem fairly warm." Junayth rumbled at this as well, and nodded as Gavrielsith told them it would be wise to get moving. She danced forward, moving ahead of the male. I'll lead, since I know where we're going. She gave a flick of her tail and started off in a brisk trot, grateful for her knowledge of the terrain.
She was able to deftly avoid the thin patches and hidden holes and safely lead them to their destination. The only place where there was a rough patch was a short climb up a rocky cliff, which she'd scambled up countless times and the path she chose was well worn. Junakyth nimbly climbed up, her thick claws digging into rock and ice as she hauled her mass up and to the top, then over the ledge. With a happy sigh she sank to her belly atop the platue. The view was, as promised, spectacular. Before them spread sheets of glittering ice, mostly undisturbed. It could easily be compared to a sea of diamond and saphires. Spires of ice and rock pierced the span of ice and jutted up boldly.
When Rukbat was ready to set, light and color would reflect on the spanse below in a spectrum of magnificent quality. There was a reason Raluca and Junakyth loved this spot so much. A small dark patch of ashy remains marked where the Frostpair normally started a fire for themselves, and Junakyth even had the start of an indentation in the ice where she typically lay to watch. Raluca took in the view with a rapt expression of joy. It had been far too long since thy were last out here.

Gavrielsith stood back and ducked his head in a gallant bow, allowing the female frost to take the lead. He set off after her, stretching his stocky legs in a distance-eating lope that he could keep up for klicks, and had in the past.
The two frosts resembled lumps of ice carried on an ocean current, drifting across the tundra one after the other. Gavriel scanned the terrain alertly, noting the frostpair's own landmarks as Junakyth led them away from the Weyr. The two of them had mental maps of the area out from the Weyr for many klicks, so even though they were not sure where the female frostpair was going, they would know where they were when they arrived.
When Junakyth banked to the side and headed up a sloping cliff rearing out of the flank of a glacier, Gavriel rumbled in mild surprise. He trotted up to the foot of the cliff and leaped, sinking his heavy claws into the slope. There was an easier way to make the top besides scaling the cliff, but it would take much longer. Also, he suspected that Junakyth just liked climbing and showing off.
The bigger frost hauled himself onto the snow-crusted clifftop. He took a moment to shake himself out (to E'zera's slight dismay) to rid his fur of most of the dirt and chips of stone that had lodged there during the climb. He found a place to sit and flopped down, allowing his rider to begin unloading.
"This is a beautiful spot," E'zera commented, gazing appreciatively across the sleek ice.

As the males hauled themselves up and shook off, Junakyth rumbled pleasently. Raluca smiled with enthusiasm and pride as E'zera complimented the view. She knew it was silly, but she couldn't help the swell of pride that bloomed in her chest. "Thank you, it's one of our favorites. We've spent a lot of time here." She started to unload Junakyth, gentley lowering the baskets with food and drink, as well as the pots and other dishware. When it was all on the ground, she separated it out by what was inside and what was going to need heat.
With it all sorted, she returned her attention to E'zera. She'd have to wait on him to get anything else done, and she made her way to Gavrielsith to see if she could help. "Need a hand? Junakyth's unloaded so I've nothing else to do."
The female Frost, now that her load was free, rose and padded to the indent which fit her figure perfectly and sank with a happy groan into it, wriggling herself until comfortably situated. She lay at an angle so that she could easily see out over the expanse of glimmering ice, as well as turn her head to easily watch the rest of the group. It was the later she was doing now, paws crossed and watching the two riders and the male Frost with curiosity. He'd had no trouble crawling up the side of the cliff after her, though she'd fully expected him to take the easier route. She was impressed. He'd been loaded down when he climbed yet he didn't seem to be fighting for breath, or suffering from it in any way. For a dragon who proclaimed to need to drop some weight, he seemed to be in fine shape to her.
