1. Transfers out are nearly unheard of. Black Sands is rather possessive of those who are hatched on its sands.
2. Any dragon which is not a native mutation to the Weyr will have a hide stained darker than normal. This goes for the canon colors who are born on their sands.
3. The native mutations all have a metallic sheen to their hides, which if they do leave the Weyr fades.
4. Those few who transfer out of Black Sands will lose their abilities at a steady rate.
5. The mutations of BSW are trained to use their innate abilities as part of their Weyrling lessons. This training will only teach them the basics though. The rest comes with age and use. The abilities of the BSW mutations are like muscles. The more they are used, the stronger they will become.
