.:.Appearance .:.
In her joyful moments, Ivaris resembles a young girl, barely into teen hood. At more serious times she reflects and older appearance, though most would guess at first sight she’s between sixteen to eighteen – depending on her mood and actions. In reality, Ivaris is currently seventeen turns old. Her skin is soft to the touch, though this does not mean she is free from those dreaded pimples – they usually only attack when she’s close to her period, that’s all. Though from a rather pale complexion Ivaris’ skin can acquired a tanned look, though it never quite reaches the “golden” state others adore. This bothers the teen in nothing; she’s perfectly pleased with the shade of her skin. Her hair is cut in two layers, the lower one barely reaching an inch or so after her neck line. The top layer is an inch or so lower than hear ears – with bangs that frame her face. She’s quite abundant in hair amount, and unlikely to ever turn bald in her life time. The strands are a shade between brown and black – as if the pigments could not settle for one or the other, giving it an “ash” like coloring when the light hits it just right. For most people, they say it’s a light black.
If one were to describe Ivaris’ figure with one word… “Petite” would definitely pop into anyone’s mind. Reaching around five feet and six inches of height, she’s taller than the majority of women – and around the same size as the smaller men. Her eyes are rather large still, the shade mostly being brown with amber highlights, giving her a child-ish and innocent appearance and her mouth and nose [apparently following the ‘petite” style of her body] are small. Her ears are often covered up by her hair, though it’s easy to spot the pair of earrings she wears. Handmade by herself, each has a wherry’s feather attached with an amber piece. As far as clothing goes, Ivaris is not overly picky – she’ll wear trousers and shirts or dresses, depending on what the occasion calls for – though she does like her clothing to have some style. She also likes matching various shades and colors together, making blends appealing [but not over bright or gloomy] to the eyes. Two golden bracelets, rather wide each, can be found on her left wrist – a family heirloom, sort to say, from her mother. A small wher-hide pouch [along with straps that allow it to be hosted securely on her back] is often found at the left side of her waist. It once belonged to her father, and now to her. Ivaris heirloom from her father’s side, you could say.
.:.Personality .:.
Joyful and innocent, child-ish and active. These were simple words that would have described Ivaris to perfection a few turns ago. But as time passed, and disaster struck, she quickly matured. Or rather, she was forced to mature. With no family left, alone and responsible for her well-fare, Ivaris slowly learned the value of saving money for times of need. She learned to be organized, to obey command and follow orders, and to be quick-witted and alert. You never knew when the opportunity for a small job and some marks would arise. She continued to practice hunting, as well as learning how to handle herdbeast – and the methods used to kill them silently. She knew how to cut them, how to separate meat from bone ‘til they were as clean as they could be.
Ivaris became popular for tasks in the kitchens other women despised, like the dealing of fresh meat and cutting things up. And she learned not to be nauseous around herdbeast carcasses. Slowly she turned from a child whose mind was in games and pranks into a young woman who knew where her responsibilities lied. Now she can be described as astute and smart.
Ivaris tends to keep her personal things to herself, rarely touching these topics with any others. Still, this doesn’t mean she’s a sour tunnelsnake. The girl likes company, and she’s quite amiable and easy to talk to. Thanks to her “hobbies” and skills, she’s more used to spend time with men – hunting in the woods or in the pens with herdbeasts – than females. This, of course, means that she has an easier time relating to them and forming friendship with boys, than with humans of her gender. Ivaris just isn’t an indoors person, she’d not scared to get out and get dirty, and apparently this can create quite a conflict with other women.
For her age, however, she’s rater somber and acts older – something that can be seen as good as bad. Good, for she’s more responsible and reliable than others her age. Bad because… Well, sometimes she gives a topic a bit too much thought, which can turn into sometimes taking the wrong decision – or making matters seem worse or more complex than they truly are. Alas, it’s something the girl will slowly balance out with time. She’s very fond of little kids, though at the same time they strike a feeling of grief and longing into her heart. She loved her little brother Enoch deeply, and losing him at such a young age was a harsh blow for her system. She often manages to bottle up her grief well, though sometimes at night [when the bottle is overwhelmed and explodes] she sometimes lets her heart out and cries herself to sleep.
.:.History .:.
Ah, the past… How sweet it had once been. The times when she could be at peace and at ease, hunting with her father or helping care for the herdbeasts. If not then Ivaris was helping her mother in the house, or with the looking after of her three turn old brother. It was the time when she was so innocent, so naïve, that she could have never seen it coming – that horrible disaster that soon struck Pern. That cursed Plague, that sharded catastrophe that none were prepared for. Enoch, her little brother, was among the first to go – followed soon by her mother. Emaris, how she had cared after her son day and night in hope that her sweet young child would survive. But he was long lost to the Plague, and soon the sickness begun to take hold of her as well. She didn’t lasted long, between the grief for the death of her son and her exposure to the sickness. Eight sevendays after Enoch she was gone too.
Her father was the only one that lasted longer, Ivaris had even dared to hope he would survive the Plague. But he was on his early fifties, and his body was not what it had once be. Devastated by the loss of his younger boy and wife, the woman he so much adored, he lived enough to make sure Ivaris had a reasonable amount of money left to sustain her before Ivonec, too, departed from this world. A turn after losing her little brother and mother, Ivaris lost her father and the last of her family. With fifteen turns and a half of age, she struggled at first to make ends meet. But soon the time of danger was over, the Plague was gone, and little by little she managed to work and make do with what she had. Now it was enough to live in a small house [she had sold the old home where she had grown] and have a few bundles of clothes, along with an ornament or two.
It wasn’t much, but at least she could bring food to her table every night. And that was what mattered, for now at least. At seventeen turns the female had already refused two marriage proposals, and also managed to learn the basics from a Beasthandler. She could soot herdbeasts with whispers, and even ride a few of the more rowdy runner stallions around. She wasn’t the best, but it was good enough to guarantee her a job or two every now and then.

.:.Color Preference & Why?.:.
Raven – Forced to mature quicker than most her age, so she could survive on her own, Ivaris developed strong “leader qualities”. She’s responsible and organized, friendly enough to gain few enemies, and often thinks subjects through three or four times before settling on a final decision. She’s young, and inexperience, of course – but with time [and some polishing] perhaps she could turn out to be a good leader. Also, she’s not afraid of new things, or “getting out and playing in the dirt”.
.:.What color
Jade/Green – They’re flirt-ish and mischievous and, while I personally am fond of greens and anything similar, I don’t think they would suit Ivaris well. She isn’t one to enter into relationships quick, or share personal things with others loosely. So having a dragon that rises every month or so would be… Yeah… Probably not a good combination. Anything else is fine, though. :3
