Appearance:
Being an identical twin Kaliara looks almost exactly like her sister Adria, with both girls taking after their father for the majority of their appearance. Like both their parents Kaliara is tall and willowy with legs that most girls her age would kill for but that Kaliara perceives as gangly. She despairs of her height as it puts her taller than most of the males her age and she hates feeling like she towers over her friends. Her frame contains little flesh on it whatsoever, a fact not aided by the girl's constant motion and reluctance to remain still for any extended period of time.
Her hair is as dark as that of her father's, reminiscent of an unlit night sky in coloring with just a hint of a dusky undertone, however unlike Adria, she wears her hair long so that it falls in delicate waves well past the inferior border of her shoulder blades. This is the one physical feature that marks the twins apart and ever since Kaliarna was a child she prevented Accalia from cutting any real length off of her hair, insisting that she had to have something that Adria did not share. For most of the time the girl leaves her hair unbound, allowing the dark mass to frame her expressive face.
Her coloring also favors that of K'dran's her skin pale enough that extended exposure may burn it, but not so pale that the merest hint of Rukbhat's rays will char her to a crisp.
As with almost all of her physical appearance Kali shares the rather peculiar shade of her eyes with both her father and sister. They are such a pale color so as to be almost regarded as white, however on closer inspection it is evident they are a very pale azure with the hint of a slightly darker blue towards the iris.
Unlike either her sister or mother, Kaliara has no trouble with coordination despite her lanky body, instead she conveys a kind of elegance that is evident in her fluid and incessant motions despite her out of proportion limbs.
Personality:
Kaliara is an impulsive and volatile young girl who seems to have an endless source of energy. She rides a rollercoaster of emotions, when she is happy, she is ecstatic, and when upset, utterly depressed, while her actions are more often than not a result of emotions than logic. Her moods are mercurial, at times butter would melt in her mouth she is that charming and sweet, however the transition into the fiery, quick tempered hellish being can be almost instantaneous and the words she uses when riled are often quite inappropriate for a girl her age. (Most generally picked up from her father.) However her moments of anger are short-lived and almost as soon as she has had her say and vented her frustration converts back to the precocious and vivacious child.
She can be restless and impatient and prefers to be constantly doing something however she throws herself with an intense single mindness into any task, not allowing herself to be torn away until she completes it.
Unlike the rest of her immediate family, when in a positive frame of mind, she loves being around people and the larger the audience she has to perform to the happier she is. Trying to get her to stop talking and let someone else get a word in can be quite a task however. As a child she would come up with the most fantastic stories and excuses, giving hint to the young girl's bright and imaginative mind. This flair for the dramatics, although somewhat diminished with age, still exists and the young woman can make turn the most mundane situations into something lively and exciting often with rather disastrous results.
She values her sister's life more so than her own, and is fiercely protective of Adria, almost always taking her twin's side in an argument. The only exception to this is when it comes to K'dran. Her father is the one person that can come between her and her twin, and Kaliara abosultely adores the man. While she loves her mother and gets along with her amicably for the majority of the time, it is to her father she will run to with her tales of woe and this has not changed one iota as Kaliara ages.

When does a person's history begin? Is it the moment they were born or when they are old enough to have recollection of events, or perhaps when their parents first met? In the case of Kali and her sister the latter is perhaps most accurate as it shaped the events that resulted in their conception. Although Accalia had been rather infatuated with K'dran she had never spoken to the man until a cold Winter morning while both dragons were feeding. It was from this encounter Dharth concocted his scheme which resulted in him rising after and capturing Accalia's jade Rownith.
The aftermath was less than friendly and Accalia vowed to have nothing to do with K'dran or his black ever again. Unfortunately for her she had not considered the possible consquences of the lust induced coupling although she was made well aware of it a few short weeks later. And here Dharth intervened again, forcing K'dran to take responsibility, to become a father figure despite his apathy to anyone and anything. Somehow things transpired so that rather than merely acting the part K'dran began to care for Kali and Adria's mother, as well as both girls, and Dharth realised that he had lost control of the situation.
From an early age Kali was a rather dramatic, exuberant child who was always babbling away about one thing or another. She came up with the most fantatsic excuses, one of the more memorable was when she returned home at 7 Turns of age after playing with friends clothing in tatters. When Accalia asked what happened the precocious girl without batting an eyelash said a Cyan had attacked her friend and she had got in the way trying to protect the smaller girl. Despite incessant questioning Kali did not deviate from her story and Accalia never did find out what actually happened.
As young children the twins had been quite inseperable, however at 8 Turns of age a wedge was driven between them. Adria discovered she could hear all dragons, and obviously came to her sister to share the news and figure out whether her twin shared this ability. At Adria's insistance Kali tried everything Adria suggested but heard nothing. While Adria went off to tell their father Kali burst into tears, angry and upset that her twin had such a wonderful gift while she had nothing. It took quite a while for K'dran, who Kali had turned to after sure her sister had left, to reassure her that she was just as special as Adria even if she was not a HAD. However after this incident Kaliara never felt a remnant of jealousy, K'dran having done an excellent job in dispelling the notion of inferiority and it not being in Kali's nature to begrudge her sister anything, instead the younger of the twins feeling pride over her sister's special ability.
It came as no surprise to anyone when 5 Turns later Adria was made a Candidate, everyone knew HADs a special spot in the Weyr and usually Impressed high ranking dragons. However Kali was offered the chance too, and accepted it gratefully, there was nothing she wanted to be more than a dragon rider like her parents.
