Princes:
Amber- a very large (emphasis on 'very') mutation. An average Amber is roughly half again as big as an average Gold. They, at Hatching, are very violent. They have nothing better to do at their Hatching that to kill off the rest of the Eggs before turning to the Candidates. Before Xyurith, the only way to Impress one was by force.
Other than their size and extreme violent-natured side, Ambers can be told apart from their Golden counter-parts by their massive curling rams-horns above their ears, where a normal color's ear-knobs would be. They are only present as tiny nubs at Hatching.
Ambers grow VERY slowly. They Hatch out of massive eggs and start out massive, but can be dwarfed in the first year by Snows. but after that first year has passed and the Snows stop growing, Ambers speed up and easily pass any other Mutation on Pern. They spend their entire lives growing, but get most of it done in their second and third year of life.
They have only been found to Hatch from Syamynth's line and are native to New Cove Weyr.
They seem to only Chase after Snows... if, that is, there's a Snow around. They are extremely loyal to whomever they've caught, and will not Chase after another female until (if or when) their current mate is caught by another male)
Queens:
Snows- Very beautiful dragons, only the clutching Snows are considered Queens. They are fully capable of clutching rather large clutches, though strangely these females would much prefer to flame. Their personalities range as greatly as possible, and they tend to be moody near their Rising. If you have one willing to clutch, she will be very protective of the clutch, and if her bonded can get near then it's a miracle. Even at hatching they will snap at anyone they don't think fit to Impress from their clutch. Flaming Snows are good to have in the wing as well, and they are excellent at their turns. Able to literally spin on a pebble, and with aim that can't be beat. They are a little slow, for some reason firestone reduces their speed. Witty on the most part, they enjoy taunting their riders playfully. Their coloring is entirely unique, nothing like it has been seen. At their Hatching, they are pure white, and were originally mistaken for overgrown Whites, but at six months, their heads, ridges, and the top membrane of their wings turns gold, while their paws turn pitch black. The remaining part stays white, but takes a glossy sheen to it, almost blinding if the light is right. They can grown in size anywhere from a Healthy Brown to a Small Amber, though the larger ones are rare. It is said that if you stare at one long enough you'll go snow-blind, even in summer. They are female only, and they Impress only females, ans can come from only Syamynth's lineage. They can not be imported, and are indigenous to New Cove. They have never been seen anywhere else.
Male:
Bone- Their hide ranges from an dull, faded white to an ashy black, but are easiest regognized by the bony protrusions on their wings. Not the most pleasent of dragons, but not as bad as a blood or amber. They are often intimidating to candidates, but once they have found their mine they are feircely loyal. Never threaten a bone's mine while the dragon is near, it's likely the last thing you will do. Their size is somewhere between a black and a brown, with an immense wingspan. They may try to fly a queen, but will only rarely succeed, and never will they try to fly a senior queen. They will impress either gender, though prefer male.
Female:
Ice**- Blue and white molted hides, these females are odd. Their tail is spaded and barbed slightly, with fairly large wings. Their head is very much like that of a triceratop, though this helps them in many ways. Long, skinny legs aren't much use for running or walking, though these dragons are excellent swimmers and tunnelers. They will impress either male or female, though their mine is often a smart and patient candidate. Ice dragons are calm, thoughtful dragons, who will spend hours watching a bug to see what it might do.

Male/Female:
Dunes- Sands/ Dunes
Sands are roughly small blue to large-green sized. They have a very grainy hide that differs from dragon to dragon on exact roughness and hue, but is mostly a light, sandy-tan. There are a few that vary, like the red-dunes, the yellow-dunes, and the extremely rare black-dune. Thier personality shifts as they grow older, from a spazztastic little Hatchling to a wise old thing. They are always born male, but as they age most turn female, while a very select few remain male. They Impress to either gender, but prefer those who aren't quite sure of themselves.
They grow more fertile as they age, with females Clutching more eggs with each Clutch and males siring more eggs with each successful Flight. Young, newly-turned females are infertile, and will remain so if they DO NOT flame. For some reason, firestone actually promotes their reproductive ability. Females can also choose if they want to Clutch after their Flight, and have the ability to reserve sperm in case there is a Clutch shortage.
Their clutches range from 5-25 eggs, with the possibility of more during a Pass and as the female reaches a older age.
While most Dunes are fertile females, not .all are considered Queens. Only female Black Dunes can achieve this stature, as they are the largest and most long-lived of the Dune variety.
They only showing up in Silvyth's lineage. Only one true-male will ever be seen alive at any given point.
(Black Dunes: The largest of the Dune variety. They grow to about the size of a Bronze, getting larger as they age (perpetually). Female black Dunes are the only ones considered Queens, as not only are they the rarest of the Dunes but also the most fertile and the longest-lived (a black dune may live well into a century, being fertile the entire time). If a Black Dune remains a male, they are often named Weyrking if no Amberrider is available.
Black Dunes have a long, flattened tail with a series of philanges sprouting from the very tip. they also have long, whip-like whiskers that sprout from their bottom jaw, muzzle, and their eye-ridges.)
(Red Dunes: Red dunes are the second rarest of the Dune variety. These dragons are nearly useless, as they are as tiny as a white when full-grown. They hatch as large as any other Dune (since they all hatch out exactly the same size), but grow so much more slowly that they rarely ever get bigger than a small Green. However, this means that they are very agile in the air and in the water, their wings being short and pointed. No Red Dune Male has ever existed... of the 'true' line. Red dunes have slick, almost oily hides with an underlying grainy texture. They secrete a type of oil that is very useful in lamps and for keeping a fire going, as a small amount can burn for a very long time.)
(Yellow Dunes: More common than the Red variety, but FAR more rare than the normal 'dune'. Yellow dunes are roughly blue-sized with many small spines erupting from their hide in various places along their skull and spine. These spines are toxic, as is the saliva of a Yellow Dune. However, espite their appearance this type of Dune os very laid-back and friendly, using the venom it can spit to literally digest Thread before or after it hits the ground.)\
(Dunes: the most common of the Dune variety, born male who become mostly female. Normal 'dunes' have a rough, grainy hide that is anywhere from a light, sandy color to a nearly off-white color. Normal dunes grow to about the size of a large Green and have no diffrent outward appearance other than their sandpaper-like hide.)

** To be replaced by Violets--
Violets: Violets are just about as opposite an Amber as you can get. They're color ranges widely from an indigo-red to a blueish-purple, but they are always brindled with extremely violent violet. Their tails and wings are uuber long, the former having no type of decorations and ending much like a whip, while the later are just so massively un-proportional it's almost comical. Violets are always happy-go-lucky dragons that are so hyper they slur their thought-speak. They tend towards obsession over some things, such as wine, fire, water, or food. You can never make these dragons mad, and only rarely are they ever sad.
They are hermaphrodites, possessing both male and female anatomy. They are, however, sterile. They will never clutch or sire a clutch. They can, however, Rise, but it is often a short thing, spazz-tastic to the very end.
Violets range from a small brown to a small green in size. Larger or smaller is very rare, but has been seen.
