Queens: Magma: These are not very large dragons, though what they lack in size compared to others, they more than make up for in temperment. They are vicious queens, rivalling even New Cove's Ambers in their ferocity and violent tendencies. Never has a Magma been Impressed normally, only through force, and not without some mauling to one extent or another. The come in size from a large Brown to a very, very small Gold, and the later is only in rare cases. Magmas take any and every chance they can get to bring pain to those around, and once they have bonded, their rider is destined for a dark path in life. In appearance there are few who can intimidate as they. Their coloring look as if they had just crawled from an active volcano, reds, yellows, and oranges spilling over the body of the dragons, and one of the worst features, but the most notable, are the deadly spines. Growing from the base of the skull, they are short there, while as they travel down the body the lengthen, reaching their max about mid-back and tapering down again to the tail. This is not just a pretty feature, but a weapon, Magmas have been known to fly to great heights and drop onto others, impaling them, for the sheer joy of it. They are very streamlined and agile fliers, the smaller ones able to fly circles around even Eden's Jades if the desire struck. Long tails and longer wings give them stability and manueverability, making them one of Pern's greatest assests in the air, so long as they are not attempting to kill any dragon in sight. Rarely will one be seen as a Senior Queen, simply due to their nasty tempers and the fact that they do not do well dealing with others, and when clutching is concerned they could care less. Magmas /have/ to have Springs around, for once a Magma has laid her clutch and smashed as many eggs as she feels the need to, she'll leave the rest and ignore them comepletely, not attending their hatching or anything. These queens are fully capable of chewing firestone without any side effects, and remain as fertile as they would be if they didn't. Another reason that so many dislike these females. There have been a rare few who have developed enough that they do not even need the firestone. Like all but the Spring mutations of Crystal Cavern, Magmas are scaled, though not in the sense one would think. Looking at them you'd never know it, and stroking one the correct direction, heat to tail, you'd not know. However, much like a terran shark, if touched incorrectly, they can shred skin effortlessly. Their scales are tiny, so much so they are nearly invisable to the eye, save a rare chance of light hitting them just right, when they sparkle like a jewel. it is due to the lay of the scales that touching them incorrectly proves painful, as to pet them from head to tail they seem silky, more so than any other dragon color on Pern.

Topaz: These kings are Bronze sized with a few ranging slightly larger, though highly intelligent. Their minds are unmatched, though by their actions one would never know. Calm, regal creatures, they speak only when they must, instead listening to the world around them. Aide is a rare thing, though they are quicker to accept it than Talune's Onyxs. As any of the colors named after a gem, they are scaled. The Topaz carry their scales on the chest, underside of their neck, and their belly. The scales are pale blue, almost transparent, highly glossy and jewel-like. Their hide varies, as do te gems. They can be a yellowish-gold color, a pale or dark blue, or an almost pink shade. Named after the stone because by heating it to various temperatures, you can change the color of the stone, so is with the dragons themselves. The temperature during their incubation determines the color of their hide. The warmer it is, the darker the color, warmest being a dark blue, and cooler temperatures resulting in the yellowed colors. They Impress to those of a calm temperment, never taking a hyper or jumpy candidate for theirs. They despise senselessness, and try to find logic in everything, which is their downfall. Reasonable in the air, not so agile or fast as a Green, but more stable than a Brown.

Males: Emerald: Very dark, gleaming shade of emerald green. Spaded tail, and a spiney ridge along neck and back, with a break in it for the dragon's mine, and scales over their chest and thighs. Unlike a green, this is a feirce dragon, and a strong fighter. A large male, and though not classified as a king it's only a little smaller then a black. Excelent thread fighters, and can stay in the sky for hours before needed to rest. Impress mainly male, though a rare female. These dragons are the male version of a Beryl.

Females: Ruby: The female verion of Beryl, they are deep red, though a rare few run lighter. Scales cover their chests and thighs, just like the Emerald counterparts. Their scales are semi-translucent, and when the light strikes them, they shimmer and glow. They are roughly Brown-sized, with a slightly longer wingspan. They are slow growing, and for the first year of their life they won't be much bigger than a very small Blue. After that their growing speeds up, and they'll reach full growth by three. They are not as agressive as Emeralds, though they are incredibly stubborn, and are the most arrogant of dragons. The candidate they Impress never seems good enough to them, and they'll spend their entire lives complaining about the rider's appearance. Will Impress to either gender, often simply picking the best looking candidate on the sands at the time.
Spring: Mothering, sweet-natured dragons, they are good for weyrling masters, and if a weyrling was trained by one they have a good chance of learning more than others. They are also well bonded to healers and harpers, prefering the former. Their coloring is generally a light, youthful green that makes on think of new leaves, while their paws are generally a brown tone, and their wings and heads are a darker, forest green. In many cases there are odd patterns on the dragons that are similar to leaves. Female only, and they Impress whoever srtikes their fancy.
