Dragon spores are large, net-shaped mushrooms that have been found only in New Cove's Forbidden Caverns. They are toxic when eaten, but in a very bizarre fashion.
Should a Dragon eat them, they stick to their reproductive organs for life. They cause changes in cannon-colors, turning them one-by-one into Mutations. Once a mutation has sprung from a cannon, it never changes back. Even if a Gold bears a mutant-Queen egg, that mutant Queen will never Clutch a cannon that's been changed.
If a human is near it it causes euphoria, delusions, and slight telepathic abilities. Once ingested, the telepathic abilities are permanent, growing with each time the mushrooms are eaten. Also, if ingested by a pregnant female (but only recently-pregnant), or by a soon-to-be pregnant female, the spores can cause severe defects in the embyro such as albinism, webbed fingers and feet, and such a high intelligence that the child seems autistic.
Blindness is a rare side-affect of eating the spores, effecting 1:1000.
Insanity is a gradual side-affect of eating the 'spores. It takes decades for one to completely loose their mind... unless you start out partially insane.
Smoking the spores or making them into a tea can cause euphoria, delusions, and slight telepathic abilities but has no reproductive side-effects.
Dragonspores are now found in Eden Weyr's jungle, but to posses a 'spore, one must find out it's location from either Cris or Harinzzat.
As of right now, new-comers to the 'spore side-affects are FREE, but as their abilities grow and they come to 'feel', it must be paid for.
Cost to 'feel': 50 marks
Current 'feelers':
Harinzzat (Squid)
Upcoming 'feelers':
Cris (Squid)
