Alfalfa is medicinal, and, as a tea, it is good for the stomach. Also a common diuretic. The plant itself grows to 80cm, and possesses purple flowers and three-part leaves. The leaves and sprouted seeds can be eaten in salads. It is an appetite stimulant for convalescents, and is used by as horse fodder to increase speed. It is also said to increase production of cow's milk. The seeds are used to make a yellow dye.
