Talune Weyr is located a couple miles WSW from the ruins of Southern Hold, situated on the tip of a rather large peninsula. It was built from a structure of an already extinct volcano who had been rather active earlier in its life. The jagged edges of the south side of the Bowl reach to the skies, and they can often be seen from the ocean, while there is just one wide peak that contains the Hatching Grounds on the southern end. A nearby river from a large freshwater spring has been channeled to the Weyr through man power over the 5 Turns it took to do it, rising up before spilling out of an opening in the peak to become the Weyr's source of bathing toward the end and fresh water higher up.
Colors: Black, Gold, and Blue to represent the new Kings and the darkness surrounding us, the Queen for new life and the light to battle the darkness, and Blue for the water to keep us living and the equality we all strive for.
Symbol: A river to represent the biggest physical obstacle this Weyr has overcome in order to survive.
-Talune Weyr's first Hold, Talune Hold is famous for its fishing, small and medium-sized boats are often seen coming to and fro the docks. They supply their Weyr with necessary fish, wherries, and tithes, receiving protection from Threadfall in return. This Hold was soon established just months after the Weyr was, no doubt made to protect and help each other respectively. It is on the small island off the tip of the peninsula, facing the Weyr.
-Nusa Hold was built around four Turns ago, and they have become more and more corrupted over the years. Many have an ongoing problem with them, but do not speak out for an action like that would cause total rebellion. It is located a couple miles ESE from Talune Hold and provides the Weyr with a diminishing amount of lumber and skins, but no more tithes.

History & Plot:
Talune Weyr's history is a bit of an odd one. And it is filled with tragedy.
Talune Weyr was built long after Weyrwoman Lessa was at Benden, at the end of the 12th Interval with only a few Turns to spare before Thread fell again. The population of dragonriders had spiked, though it was mainly the females and males, leaving the amount of Kings and Queens to be held the same. They needed a new Weyr and fast, having already shut down Southern for its uselessness and its abrupt lack of resources. Choosing a small island off a point in the South continent, the Weyrleaders of many Weyrs decided this as the best place for the new Weyr. But there was a problem. In order to get water into an extinct volcano, builders had to build for months and Turns, trying to get a decent water supply to the inland Weyr, many times for hours on end. They struggled, a little less than half-dying before they were even finished, most doing the best they could do to help out in any which way they could. After what seemed to be an eternity, the river was finally finished, the sight of the waterfall spilling into the grounds practically moving some to tears. And it was just in time. The deadly Thread has yet to cease to fall and the next Interval is still a long ways away. It is early into this Pass, no more than 10 years, making the dragonriders veterans at it by now.
Little did they know that they were also celebrating the birth of a new beginning...
Now into the political history of the Weyr: Before our current Weyrwoman and her Senior Queen, the 3rd previous Weyrwoman that was sent to the new Weyr soon became old, now she was a sickly but stern woman, scolding everyone in her path only to later collapse in her bed with a high fever at least once a week. Her council of advisers told her to step down, to allow the Junior Weyrwoman to take over and allow her some rest to recover, but she had just meekly responded that she was perfectly fine and that there was nothing to worry about. Shocked, her advisers settled with the out-of-character response that could've been only for show and allowed her to continue her oversee of the Weyr. But this is where it gets interesting. She was not hated by her Weyr at all. The Weyrwoman was out of it most of the time anyways, so what was there to worry?
The Weyrwoman was found dead on the sole day that a messenger from Nusa Hold had arrived with news concerning the tithes. The healers looked her over and said she had been stabbed by a dull blade of some sort and had bled to death, her perfectly healthy Gold going between to never be seen again. The messenger was convicted to a death of his own accord on a lonely island where they had placed him, but when one of the deceased Weyrwoman's advisers had also been murdered, it was blatantly obvious they had captured the wrong guy. Who is this murderer and why has he or she killed these people? More importantly, who's next?
Ten turns ago, Talune Weyr ran into a bit of bad luck. Their only Queen (The Junior Queen taking over for the last one) was rising for the last time, and she had never laid a single Queen egg to lead after her. It was during Satoth's last flight that something unusual happened. An eclipse. During the last mating of Aire's Gold Satoth and G'ret's Bronze Fonath, the sun was covered, an unknown occurrence already beginning to take place in Satoth's womb.
It wasn't until the eggs were laid that the eclipse's strange effects were to be noticed. First, a strange egg the color of an opal, large as any Gold, was laid. People didn't know what to think. Could it possibly be a Queen or something entirely new? Next, each dragon egg took color. No longer would Gold be the only visible dragon color. Red, Green, Blue, Silver, Brown, Bronze, Onyx, and Opal eggs were laid, the colors of the eggs a little more clear and telling of the dragonet inside.
However, it wasn't long before Talune Weyr would suffer three more hardships. The Weyrleader would suffer serious burns, dying and his Bronze following, blinking between. The Weyrwoman would soon die as well, an unknown illness claiming her life. However, since the eggs hadn't Impressed yet, the Gold Satoth remained, a former shell of herself, destined to die the morning Impression was to be made on her children.
The Hatching came and went. 14 dragonets out of 16 had Impressed, finding their Mines rather hastily. Two red eggs never hatched and it was for the better, for autopsies showed them to be deformed and mutated in the process of developing. 1 Opal, 1 Onyx, 2 Bronzes, 1 Brown, 2 Silvers, 3 Blues, 3 Greens, and 1 Red hatched to scurry to their Mines. As time passed, and new ranks were formed, more was learned of the new mutations, and they were beginning to be the start of a new Talune Weyr.
It seemed fate had never been on Talune Weyr's side for, just after her sixth clutch and the birth of another Talune queen, the beloved Opal and her rider would meet their doom fighting thread. An out-of-pattern-threadfall caused the two to blink between suddenly, the image of where the wished to appear being lost in their fear. They died in the cold nothingness and a Hatchling not a week old was to be made the Senior Queen, not to mention a simple girl who knew virtually nothing of dragons was to be the Weyrwoman.
Opal Linnelyth has already risen for her first time, caught by an Onyx named Varanth, and depositing 25 eggs on the Hatching Sands that consisted of:
Gold: 0
Opal: 0
Onyx: 0
Bronze: 3/4
Brown: 5/5
Silver: 2/2
Blue: 5/5
Crimson: 2/2
Scarlet: 1/1
Green: 5/6
Hatched: 25/25
Impressed: 22/25
Wandering: 0/25
Mauled (Sibling slaughter): 2/25
Betweened: 1/25
Duds: 0/25
But wait a second, what of the murderer? Is he still on Talune sands? Or is he dead and his descendants ready to carry out his legacy?

Talune has been around for nearly 50 turns. Any cannon dragon may be of that age or younger. Mutations MUST be under ten turns. Those stated above that were hatched recently are the only dragon that will be accepted around the ages of 1 and 1/2 turns, making them former senior weyrlings that graduated only five months ago. (Think Mistith if you want the correct clutch and age. ) Any mutation that comes from ten turns ago exactly and shares the same clutch as Varanth must come from the list of fourteen.

[Very Brief Summary of Plot]
It is many turns after Lessa's time, many turns after AVIAS's plan to rid Pern of Thread forever failed. The former Weyrleader has passed on from a freak Thread accident, and now Linnelyth is virtually the last chance for the Weyr. Her third rising is quickly approaching, and the weyrlings from her second clutch-denied the chance of having a queen sister-are growing still, recently graduating into their own wings. The mutations have been around for ten turns now, and their colors and abilities have been judged and new ranks have been established. Thread falls out of pattern perpetually, and hope is a distant wish for most until a few thought to listen for a change.
You see, it seems the Eclipse has effected the dragons in more than one way as, now, certain dragons have stood, claiming they can predict when and where thread will fall and be able to get there to flame the menace before it has a chance to burrow into the soil. Could this rare ability, and the dragons who posses it, possibly be the saviors of all life on Pern?
