A massive head rested atop the golden sands of the beach, eyes wheeling calm shades. The Hatching had been shakey, with new colors introduced, but nothing had gone too horribly wrong. It had been hard though, undoubtably. Watching the entire happening had nearly broken the Snow's heart in two, and she heaved a sigh, sending a gust of sand swirling away from her nostrils. Why did life have to be so complicated, and more importanly... Why did a place as dreadful as Black Sands Weyr have to exist? It took a sick mind to do what they had done, and it made the Snow shudder to think that she was the clutchmother of the demonic beast which lead that Weyr.
HerKisa told her not to think to heavily on such things, but how could she not?
Speaking of the small woman, Kisa was sitting at the water's edge. Her dark hair was damp with saltwater, clothing clinging to her petite frame as she slowly dried in the sun. Her cerulean eyes gazed off into the distance, thinking of what she and her bonded would do next. Stay in the Weyr, a place that Silvyth had effectively betrayed by letting firestone pass her lips? They still were unsure of how Xyurith would treat them now, and the outlook both rider and dragon had were grim. Leaving would be easier, perhaps seeking a home in Eden?
No... Kisa was too fond of this place to go so far, at least for the moment. She lifted a hand, running it through her damp tresses as she tried to banish the unhappy thoughts. She wasn't going to let go of N'nika without a fight, that much was certain. If the Amber wanted to stand in her way so be it, he'd find out how she'd survived the turns before the Weyr first-hand. She cast a glance over her shoulder to her dragon, watching the Snow lift her head and blink slowly. Yes MineKisa?
"Silly... What do you want to do from here?"
The great Snow didn't answer for a moment. She knew what Hers was asking. What she wanted to do for their future, where -if anywhere- did she want to turn for sanctuary. After her silence, the female turned away from the rider, looking out at the water. Swim.
"Silvyth! That's not what I meant..." Before Kisa could get much more in edgewise, the large Snow rose from her resting place, closing the distance between them and scooping her small rider up in her behemoth maw delicately. Kisa howled and swatted at the dragon, to no avail. She was carried into the water, Silvyth's way of changing the subject for the moment, and as the Snow made her way out into the water, until her paws were just barely able to reach the gritty bottom, Kisa uttered a string of curses that fell on deaf ears.
We haven't been able to relax for ages. I'm sick of wasting every moment thinking of only the bad. Let us have fun, just this once. She opened her jaws again and dropped her rider into the water, watching calmly as the woman splashed and sputtered and threw dark looks at her. Kisa wasn't genuinely mad -or at least she wouldn't be for long- so the female had no worries there. Instead, she unfurled her wings and dipped them into the water thoughtfully, before scooping up a mass of water and flinging it skyward with the filmy expanses, letting the water fall back down in a crystal like rain. Let it go, let it roll right off your shoulders... The Snow gazed skyward, watching the rain she'd created shower both herself and Kisa. Don't you know the hardest part is over. Her gaze returned to the woman, and the rider looked back at the dragon, treading water. A faint ghost of a smile touched the corners of Kisa's lips at her dragons words, and Silvyth returned the expression with a soft rumble. They both had to let go of what happened. What better time than now?
