Cotton grows is sandy/clay like soil. It is made into thread, cotton velvet material, and other materials used for clothing. The seeds are pressed for edible oil, residual oil is used for stock food. Gossypol, extracted from seed oil, has potential as a male contraceptive. The oil is antiviral, antibacterial, and eases menstrual pain. Seed hairs are woven into fabric.
