Phenom is average height, average weight, and really very little about him seems to stand out. He is the sort who is so easily overlooked and forgotten that he could easily have been at every social gathering on Pern and almost none would be able to recall his face. His hair is a dull brown, not so dull or lack-luster that it draws attention, but not spectacularly healthy and vibrant. his eyes are a muddy shade, which belies a strange sort of intelligence lurking beneath. It is difficult to put the impression he gives into words, for while he is so easily forgotten onvce he is gone, while he is speaking to you, it is hard to look away.
His features are stern, serious. There is little room for play in his expression, and he rarely turns his lips up or daown, rather leaving them in a harsh line arcoss his face. His nose is broad, and slightly flattened, crooked in a faint angle from a fight which resulted in the breaking of his own nose, and the jaw of the other.
Personality:
What he lacks in appearance, he makes up for in personality. Cunning, devious, and sinister to an extreme, he is a favorite for Impression so far as D'myn is concerned. Phenom shows no qualms with taking lives, and obediently does as his Weyrleader says, though few others can exert such control.
When on his own, Phenom can rarely find things to do, and his mind is wasted. He needs direction, and from someone who is adept at giving orders, to truly thrive.
Durring a short stay in New Cove Weyr, Phenom became an active user of dragonspores, to the point where in a single day, he was ingesting them at least once every hour. He spent only a turn and a half, but the amoutn comsumed easily made up for it. His mind, due to this, is highly sensitive, as is his empathic skills.
History:
Phenom was born in Black Sands Weyr, his father unknwon, and his mother refusing to care fro mhim. He was handed off to the drudges, and as he grew, his parents never stepped forward to lay claim, as some do once the child has aged.
When Phenom reached the age of candidacy, he stood on Black Sands' Hatching grounds only once. Before the eggs had even started to break he was snatched off and dragged aside by the Weyrleader, who scolded him. To Phenom's shock, he had more important tasks to attend to. e was needed to go out into Pern and bring back information. An easy enough task. It was durring his travels that he met D'myn, just before the lad Impressed. It isn't hard to see why the pair got along so very well, and after D'myn Impressed anf then transfered out, Phenom found dragonspores.
His first sampling of them was only by chance, and his curiosity. after that it became habit. He raided the caverns and stocked up, and every hour, he ate more. While on the spores, he was more telepathic than even the dragons, and he heard every thought which passed by him. He knew what everyone in the Weyr was up to, what they wanted, what they hated. It was more than a little intimidating, if one wasn't so brazenly stoic as Phenom.
He transfered out of New Cove Weyr and back into Black Sands after almost two turns (1 1/2 turns really) to find something of a surprise waiting for him. D'myn was there as well, and from the looks of it, the young amberpair were well on their way to claiming the spot of weyrleader.
From that day on, Phenom had done whatever asked by the man, and had devoted himself through underhanded means to furthering D'myn's cause and his war against Pern itself.
