Night had fallen over Talune Weyr several candle marks ago now, and every normal individual was curled up slumbering in their weyrs at this hour, trying to rest up for the series of wing duties that had been assigned for the following day. Of course those particular duties did not apply to one specific Greenpair. Tain and Mistith had been given a reprieve from doing their drills under strict order of the Weyr's Healers who felt that, though the lovely little Green had been fairing far better in the months following her attack by the Bronze Nuath and had even Risen since then to prove her recovery, she was not quite ready for the stress of group activities. This was perhaps in large part due to the Weyr King's intervention, who had more or less approached the pair and declared that they would be on light duties for awhile until he felt that the Green's act of valor had been well rewarded. So the Greenpair did not complain, honored by the rest and time to recovery further, although still managing to sneak their way into taking over Watch Post duties for friends or accompanying the Weyrling Master in his lectures to offer their assistance.
There was of course a downside to all this free time; it left a great deal of room for boredom to fall onto the both of them, and Tain in particular at the moment could not rest despite her greatest attempts. Her beloved Green had woken with her, unable to maintain a consistent slumber because thoughts of mischievousness plagued her mind. A large, forest green wedged skull rested on her paws, eyes pivoting about the weyr as though she were looking for anything, anything at all, to distract her wayward thinking. Mine? I am bored. Booorrrreeeeddd. Mistith's complaints were seconded by the young woman that claimed her as her bonded, a loud half sigh half grumble escaping Tain before she tossed back the skins of her bed and wandered over to her dragon's couch. Her arms crossed over her chest which was clad in her light sleeping attire. The harsh summer months of the southern continent had set in, demanding that anyone who wished to remain in a solid state and not a puddle come morning rest in as little as they could because the humidity this particular turn had been brutal.
I know love. I am too. There was a pause, rider and dragon seeming to smile in unison as a twin though crossed over their minds. Tain nodded to the Green, the small female dragon rising from her perch to wander to the ledge which led to the Weyrbowl. Tain was not far behind her dragon in her thought processes, knowing the Green was going to her weyrmate's ledge to coax him into Faranth only knows what. And that meant that F'st would be all alone and perfect to startle with a midnight rousing. Tain made quick work of climbing up onto her dragon's back forgoing the saddle for the time it would take. Seeing as they were only climbing a few levels, it did not bother her in the slightest--she knew her dragon would not permit her to fall. Their ascent was a quick one, and Tain silently thanked Faranth that Mistith was so light on her feet and that, once they touched down on the Emeraldpair's ledge, it did not appear Typhith had roused from his slumberings.
Quietly, both dragon and rider crept to their weyrmates, Mistith sneaking quickly up alongside of Typhith and providing his cheek with a quick stroke of her tongue as her mind voice gently poked into his dreams. My loyal, lovely Emerald, would you wake for me? She settled down alongside of him, nuzzling fondly at his sides. Tain, on the other hand, had crept into the large--though runty by his color's standards he was still a behemoth in Talune--Emerald's rider's bed, having snaked one arm around his torso and whispering quietly beside of his ear.
"F'st. F'st..." She, much like her Green, became distracted with coaxing him into rousing with light kisses against any real exposed section fo skin she could find. Now what the both of them would do when their mates woke was a different story, and both it seemed had lost their plans in favor of merely teasing the males into getting up with various affections.

Something… Something was... Typhith’s eyes slowly opened. Something was trying very hard to call him from slumber and into the realm of the wakeful at an odd hour. It was to his fortune that the creature who so delicately coaxed him from deep slumber had approached his good side, and was easily spied amid the darkness of the weyr. His eye swirled sleepy hues of happiness. His dear, sweet little jewel had come to visit him. With a sly smirk, he extended his wing and draped it over the little Green, ensnaring her in a dark canvas as he pulled her close to him. ~There are many things I would do for you, my precious heart. If all you ask is for me to wake, I will gladly do so.~ His voice was slow, still foggy with sleep, but obviously he was waking quickly at her bidding. How could he not though? As the Emerald, small by the standards of his color but an unusual giant in the haven of Talune, roused further from his slumber with the little Mistith being pulled close to him, he rolled to his side with a soft groan, wrapping his paws around her in a gentle imitation of the way humans hugged.
His wing retracted, folding back to his side stiffly with a faint pop in the joint. Even after all this time, he showed signs of his former injuries. Rumbling softly his neck arched, bringing his wedged head down to nuzzle his sweet Green affectionately. ~Now what brings me the pleasure of being woken from sweet dreams by the only thing on Pern better than a dream, little angel?~
F’st was slightly harder to rouse from slumber than his bonded beast. At first he was certain it was merely a very realistic dream which he was being assaulted by so sweetly. As Tain peppered him with kisses anywhere she could find skin, he murmured sleepily. She had plenty of skin to kiss with his chest and arms fully exposed, and as her lips fluttered over him again and again, he began to realize he was not, in fact, dreaming. His heart skipped a beat as a voice called his name, quietly beside his ear. Oh that voice… He would do anything to hear Tain whisper his name so softly to him, and it almost convinced him he was still asleep. Until he felt Typhith’s own mind, the contentment which the Emerald felt as he woke to find Mistith at his side.
F’st’s stormy eyes opened rapidly, almost afraid he really was dreaming, and when he found Tain in the bed with him, he smiled widely. What a lucky man he was, to find such a beautiful face greeting him. Regardless of the hour, he was happy for that. ”Well… Hello there beautiful.” Not the most graceful of greetings, but as groggy as he was he couldn’t think clearly yet. All he knew was the woman who held his heart in her hands was in his bed, banishing his dreams and replacing them with the sweetest of realities. His eyes debated closing again and enjoying the moment, but he feared if he let them fall shut they would rebel and refuse to open again. Instead, he curled and arm around Tain’s waist, pulling her atop him and allowing him to look up at her. The hand which wasn’t around her waist reached up, cupping her cheek. ”What draws you from your own weyr, Tain? You should be sleeping, like the rest of the Weyr.” Concern touched his tones, worried for her well being.
ooc;; Sorry this is a little short. I realized I haven't RPed since WoP went quiet. x.x Apparently I'm rusty. lol

Mistith crooned sweetly to the far larger brute, delighted she had managed to coax him from his dreaming to wake and be with her for a time. She could hear the sleepiness lacing his mind voice though and the thought, coupled with his sweet words and even lovelier actions of pulling her closer against his bulk, caused her to nearly warble in pride so pleased was she with what she had done. The little Green settled for reciprocating his varied affections until a pop in his wing caused her eyes to swirl shades of concerns for a moment. She had had high hopes, much as the rest of the Weyr, that his wings would heal and there would be no lasting damage to the sensitive structures. To hear them protesting certain movements, even gentle and slow ones done out of love, was worrisome.
We came because we were bored...Cooped up in our own weyr with nothing to do and too much energy. Varanth's prescribed vacation has left us with nothing to do, and too much to think about doing or wanting to do. She seemed embarrassed of this simple fact, staring at the stone ground of the Emerald's weyr, scratching at it with her littlest of front claws absentmindedly. But now I worry about your wing, and think you must be awfully silly to do things which cause you pain. The thick mass of her tail had swept across the floor, twining around the male's own as a form of a supportive hug because her own paws were trapped beneath her mate's embrace. Not that she minded, though, it just meant she needed to be a little more creative in her affections. I am no angel, love. Angels don't hurt the ones they love. But I will spend the rest of my days trying to make it up to you for the stiffness you feel, and I can start by asking that you and Yours join myself and Mine in a new weyr instead of keeping separate ones as though it were a secret. The Green rumbled very lightly, inclining her head to gift his maw with another nuzzle. Besides, it is awfully lonely in that weyr of mine. Yes, Tain is there, but it seems empty without a rather large, green and stripped brute taking up the majority of the couch space.
A smile took hold of the corners of her lips, brightening her features even among the darkness of his weyr. "Don't fret, you worry-wart," her tone bespoke nothing but gentleness and humor for the Emeraldrider whose first response was usually something akin to worry or uncertainty in most things. She could only chalk this up to his having been born away from this most wonderful of havens where incidents of chaos and discord were few and far between, and never so harsh as to disrupt life for particularly long. "I'm not in my weyr because, well, it doesn't feel as though it were mine. It lacks one particularly fond of snoring, skin-stealing, and generally fretting man curled up in the skins next to me. That is the primary reason, but of course I am, as Mistith has said, bored. We are both creatures of action and being off duty...it is difficult to wrap our heads around."
Dark green eyes peered down at him, one hand going to his shoulder to steady herself now that he had perched her precariously over top of him. "But back to better, more important topics," Tain began, the smile never quite leaving her lips as she looked down on him with that same manner of almost childlike innocence which had attracted him to herself and her Green those many months ago. "Would you, could you, make me the happiest Greenrider on Pern and be my weyrmate? I think we have for some time now, but it would be so much easier to pester you in the middle of the night if all I had to do was roll over instead of climb several flights of weyrs."

Typhith rumbled softly, nuzzling his little Green gently as she fretted over him. As if to prove a point, he extended the injured wing again to the side and with only a minor wince. ~My dearest heart, worry not your mind with thoughts of my well being. My wing is at its worst when I haven’t used it for awhile, nothing more.~ This was mostly truth. When he woke, he often found the joints which had once been broken brutally stiff and painful. Once he had stretched it out and forced the joints to extended and retract a few times, he was usually able to deal with it better. Flight was still painful, at least the part which involved getting off the ground, and as of late he had taken to gliding off from his ledge lazily rather than striving to leap into the skies.
~I shall call you an angel, for you are just that my Green. You inspire me to faith and hope, and you guide me like a beacon through even the darkness of Between. For my source of faith and love I would do anything, give anything. Besides…~ A wry smile tugged at the corners of his maw, his skull withdrawing to tilt his head, letting his good eye rest on Mistith’s dainty feature. The orb swirled shades of blues and green, happiness and joy evident in it. How had he gotten so lucky, meeting this little beauty and not only befriending her, but being drawn into her heart and soul as if he belonged there from the start? Even now, he could not fathom such a thing, yet he was grateful for it all the same. ~Only an angel would ask to slumber at my side. I would be eternally happy to have a small and sweet creature nuzzling me in the midst of the night every night for the rest of my span. I would be honored, sweetest Mistith, to seek a new couch which is large enough to accommodate us both.~
F’st could only smile at her response. It was so like her, to make something seem so utterly natural and right. Of course she didn’t feel like her weyr was her own, just as he often found himself feeling uncomfortable in the rooms which he had occupied since his first day in Talune. He had attributed it originally to mere restlessness and worry. Typhith’s wing was a source of concern for the rider, and F’st took note of how the small Emerald who formerly would gladly shove himself forcefully from the ground or a perch and row his wings to gain altitude more often than not sought opportunities to take a more gentle approach to flight. His dragon’s eye was much less of a concern. The colors were off, and things were on occasion blurred and hard to distinguish, but all-in-all it was better than nothing, and Typhith had adjusted to it finally. It was while he pondered the true source of his own unease that Tain enlightened his truly to the cause.
He laughed aloud, hugging her tightly and kissing first the tip of her nose, and then her forehead. ”Silly Greenrider! Are you so daft to think it is you who would be made the happiest of us by such a blissful arrangement? No, my love. You make me far happier by merely offering, much less letting it come to fruition.” His stormy eyes sparkled as he gazed at the woman he so dearly cared for. Being with not only Tain, but with Mistith as well came as both a surprise to the Emeraldpair as well as naturally. As often as both males might marvel at their luck, they never questioned if it was real. It was a simple fact of life now. Typhith belonged at Mistith's side, and F'st belonged to Tain. "I would love nothing more than for us to be weyrmates. Though we shall have to find some other way to keep the both of us active, since climbing up and down flights of stairs will be eliminated." He chuckled slyly at this, giving her waist a playful squeeze.

Humor sparked in Tain's eyes, a smirk rolling over her features as he expressed his delight for her suggestion and provided her with a teasing squeeze at her side to boot. She was glad the idea had been so well received, although to be honest she hadn't expected any other reaction from the Emeraldrider. He was just as thoroughly snagged around her pinky as Typhith was around Mistith's littlest claw. The suggestion of alternative exercise, however, had wormed its way into her thoughts and brought a mischievousness to both her tone and her demeanor which now shifted to better straddle his hips with her free hand having just lifted to lightly prod his chest.
"Now, F'st, that sounds an awful lot like you have something in mind instead of climbing up all those silly steps. Would you care to share in your master planning with me or do I just have to sit here and allow your evil plans to play out?" Her hand splayed across his chest, fingers lightly lifting and falling now to tap at the skin that laid exposed before her. "I think you should share them. Tis terribly stingy of you to keep such fun things away from your weyrmate, you know?"
Mistith was not entirely convinced that his wing truly bothered him as infrequently as he declared it did, though she would never go so far as to call him out on the matter. He was a proud creature and she understood his need to be so, both to prove it to himself that he was still a fine flier with skills to offer and to the Weyr which had taken him in when no other had seen fit to. He fretted too much over the latter for her own personal opinion, however, because after he had returned to the Weyr from his stay on the beaches, word had trickled down through the Lower Caverns. Word of a former brute who had been so moved and enthralled by a tiny Green's actions that he had flown with broken wings and injured eye to spare her. For many of the wherryheaded Cavern women, this was the most lovely of love stories, and case of the beauty and the beast really, and their gossiping revolved around the love that was impossible in the eyes of near anyone viewing the pair. Notions of size and transfership were cast aside, even the very personalities of the dragon colors, it seemed, for the Emerald was nowhere near as brutal as his hide demanded and the little Green not empty-headed and flirtatious, but rather cunning and loyal. With all these favored words flitting about the Weyr just under her Typhith's nose, she wondered still why he felt the need to prove himself to them. They had already accepted him-why couldn't he do so for himself?
Such sweet words. You flatter me with them so. But enough of that; we have plans to make, things to think. I will have to bring my couch here...Yes, I think that will do. If I don't have a little extra space I fear you'll snatch it all. Typhith dear, you are very much a couch-hog.

With Tain making herself comfortable atop him, her fingers splayed over his chest and drumming lightly F’st chuckled. He may have been more than a little groggy when she had first coaxed him out of his dreams, but he had rapidly managed to wake and at this point was eager to spend time with her doing just about anything she desired. Regardless of what may or may not be high on his own list right now… ”Well I would imagine that if we took to running laps around the weyrbowl we’d make up for all that lost effort. It doesn’t sound particularly fun though…” The hand which had caressed her cheek slid down to her shoulder and along her arm, lifting the hand it had come to and bringing the fingertips to his lips. ”Of course, the process of moving is going to be work as well…” He kissed the palm of her hand, smiling against the skin. ”But none of that sounds terribly fun. Of course, I’d be open to any suggestions…”
His lips moved to her fingertips, brushing over each one tenderly. ”Besides, with you poking me awake in the middle of the night, you’re bound to catch me in the midst of some very interesting dreams. Take tonight for example…” His eyes cast a hungry sweep over Tain. ”I was certain when I first found you in my bed I was still dreaming. There were an awful lot of similarities.” He idly folding his fingers through Tain’s own in the hand he had been kissing.
Typhith rumbled soft laughter as Mistith called him a couch-hog. ~Is that what I am then? Well, I shall have to make sure there’s no room for you anywhere but atop me then!~ He stretched out as fully as the brute possibly could, his wings unfurling to cover much of the floor, the rest of his limbs joining in the act and extending to leave practically no room for rider to safely walk, much less his beloved Green. Save, of course, for where he’d pulled her to him already. Typhith groaned in mock pleasure and heaved a great sigh. ~Ahhh… This is much better!~
Much though he might fret over his usefulness and his value, there were plenty of times where this side of him shone through. How could it not, when the company he kept was that of a sprite? The endless playfulness of Mistith and Tain had crept into the hearts and souls of the Emeraldpair, and touched them. By beholding they became changed. They worried less about the mind of the Weyr, and focused more on being happy in the moments they had found with the Greenpair. It was true; the pair was unaware of how their reputation had changed in the months that had passed for they rarely bothered with listening in on conversations when they knew they were the subject of the matter. They would have been in for a rather startling surprise if they were to learn how highly the females both of human and dragon nature both spoke of the love between the Emerald and the Green. It made sense though, the powerful devotion he showed, unflagging and undeniable, was something which could be inspiring in the hearts of romantics, and likely even those who thought themselves steeled against such silly notions.
The Emerald yawned mightily, understandable considering the hour, and his muscles quivered as he did, before settling back down and pulling his wings in to wraps them, along with his forelegs, around his little Green love. ~We do have much planning indeed. I will speak with Varanth in the morning. Perhaps I can coax him to allow you to have your pick of the empty weyrs. We could find one high enough up to get a nice view of everything, one where we could easily sneak out in the night and go for a swim, the four of us, with only the watch dragons noticing.~

Mistith squirmed underneath her much larger mate's wings, rumbling softly despite her huffs and her own antics which served to indicate otherwise. You overgrown lizard! Her words were teasing, accompanied by a few half-hearted attempts from the Green to disentangle herself from the Emerald's hold. Her wings stretched out, giving him a light shove with the membrane as she found herself effectively unable to escape his clutches. Even when he seemed to relinquish his hold over the entirety of the weyr floor, he did offer her the same treatment but rather pulled her closer if that was possible. She did not mind, however, enjoying the warmth that such a position afforded her. In fact, she nestled closer against him, her head curling around the front of his chest.
An excited trill escaped her at the thought of the Onyx Weyr King allowing her to pick out a new and larger Weyr for the four of them, especially one with a view. Her own weyr was particularly low to the ground and had no such view to speak of, something she was not resentful of--it was a matter of fact thing that the Greens and Reds got the lower level weyrs while the higher were reserved for Bronzes, Browns, and Silvers. Blues ended up somewhere in between, and anyone of high rank, like the Weyrling Master, got a weyr higher up. But now she could pick a larger weyr out of necessity for the size of her mate and the addition of herself into the mixture. A view would be lovely. Something overlooking the setting Rukbat framed against the rest of the Weyr. I agree; Mine would love to be able to flit off at night and play, perhaps even upon the beaches too.
Tain quirked a brow, eying his kisses as they passed from fingertip to fingertip and then finally to her palm. She had not missed the suggestiveness of his actions nor his words, although she thought she might play a touch harder to get than that and feign a tiny bit of innocence, as if she hadn't already been within the Emeraldrider's bed on more than one occasion. "Oh? Well do tell. I'm sorry to have woken you from such interesting dreams...They must have been particularly distracting to have you missing them so."

~Then it is done. I will not rest until you have the perfect weyr.~ Typhith smiled at the Green, curling his neck to rest his own large muzzle beside hers on his chest. He could spend an eternity lying here like this with her, and not be the least bit bored. So long as she was near, the beast would be content to do anything at all. ~For the moment though, perhaps we can stir up some amusement for ourselves? I haven’t been to the beach since they brought me back to finish mending. It would be lovely to stretch out in the water and relax, perhaps a certain little dear could even entice me into playing with her, should she splash about too much.~
He rumbled softly, so quiet it was nearly silent. The vibrations through his chest and past his lips couldn’t be denied though. ~Besides, my most precious Mistith… Unless I’m mistaken, you and Yours still owe me and Mine that date.~ How incredibly astute of the Emerald, to recall that they had never had a chance to re-try their meeting at the beach.
F’st himself was chuckling as well. When Tain put on the innocent face, when she toyed with him and worked to make him spell out things just to see if he would, to make him say it… Perhaps he should find it annoying. He didn’t though. It was endearing, sweet, and wonderful. ”Don’t apologize, my love. No matter how much I might enjoy a dream, none can compare to spending even a heartbeat with you.” He would have continued, had he not caught what Typhith was saying to Mistith.
It was a rather tempting thought, really. Enough so that he entirely lost focus on what he’d been up to before, grinning widely. ”Ty has a good point. You, Greenrider, owe us a date.” He playfully reached out and tapped her nose lightly as he spoke. ”And we’d like to collect.”

"What, now?" Tain's raised a critical brow, eyeing the man as if he were daft. Of course she did not think so, but he had gone and done a complete 180 in terms of what he seemed to be wanting in that given instance. It was not that she minded this abrupt change of pace and desire, more so she had been caught off guard and was now recomposing herself to consider the idea. Tain could not deny the thought sounded appealing...To go back to the beach, certainly not the same one for it held too sharp of memories for the Greenrider to feel comfortable with. It was a lovely prospect, but several things barred--well, more hindered--their expedition. There was the fact that the Watch Dragon would need to be convinced to look the other way at their wanderings, not mentioning the excursion. The fact it was in the heavy stages of the night, where little light other than the stars existed, was also a challenge; they might have to bring a glow in order to not trip over stray shells and sea creatures wandering over the sands. And then there was the more easily fixable matter such as the fact that Tain was not quite dressed for such a sojourn.
A hand stretched forward, fingers lightly trailing through his hair which filtered between her fingers with ease. She seemed amiable to the idea, despite this aforementioned obstacles however, and continued her petting while her brow lowered to rest against his own for a brief span of time. "Alright; I never fail to keep my word. You do realize though Ty will have to do some conning yes? The uptight Crimson Quilonth Watches tonight, and he is generally quite anal with his detailing exactly what it is that goes on in the Weyr at night. That, and I will have to get more appropriately dressed."
Mistith chimed in at this, delighted with the prospect of charming the Crimson into submission. I believe I can help with that Mine. He may be nit-picky, but he is male and I am particularly evil when I set my mind to charming. I believe I can coax him into looking the other way. The Green inclined her head, eyes whirling shades of mischief as she looked on her Emerald. Assuming of course that my wonderfully protective mate will allow me to do so? I know how much you snarl and growl when the males trot my way just before Rising and in general, really.
